LOCKS OF THE WEEK
Scott Batchelor
Rams over Giants – I am simply picking the Rams as my lock because I am a homer. I do not recall picking them as a lock this year and I won’t get another chance (they are playing in Seattle next week, no one is picking them next week). Simply put, the Giants are not a good team this year. I have not watched a lot of Giants this season so I am not sure what they are missing but I know from what I have seen, they are not a better team than the Rams.

Patriots over Jets – Future Hall of Famer Tom Brady travels to take on the lowly NY Jets. While Brady is having another MVP type of season, the Jets and their fans would really like to forget this season. I think that the Patriots defense will show up big and get after Jets QB Geno Smith early and often. New England wins this one easily.

Lions over Bears – The Bears are a mess, and now they are going with their backup QB Jimmy Clausen to start over a struggling Jay Cutler. They’re giving up an average of 383 total yards per game to opponents, and rank second to last in the league on pass defense. Matthew Stafford and Megatron are going to go off.

Patriots over Jets – Brady and the Patriots solidified their dominance in the AFC East once again, when they defeated the Miami Dolphins 41-13 in Week 15. This week, they take on the 3-11 New York Jets, who are (believe it or not) coming off a win themselves, after defeating the Titans 16-11. But it’s hard to imagine the Jets stopping the 11-3 Patriots, especially when New England is clicking on all cylinders as the season winds down. Whether Vick or Smith starts at QB for New York, expect it to be a long day for the Jets.

Eagles over Redskins – I like Philadelphia over Washington this week. Philly is coming off a loss to Dallas this past week an needs a pair of wins down the stretch to stay in the playoff picture. The qb carousel continues for Washington with RG3 back under center this week, but the Redskins have failed to show me any sort of promise with a weak record of 3-11. Look for Chip Kelly to light a fire under these guys this week in practice.

Lions Over Bears – Detroit’s defense is one of the best in the league, and it showed in their beat down of Chicago on Thanksgiving Day. Jimmy Clausen gets the start for Chicago and Detroit’s D should roll.
