LOCKS OF THE WEEK
Scott Batchelor
Packers over Eagles – There are plenty of other teams I could pick for my lock, Denver or San Diego are easy picks that I almost went with; even Philly in this very game would be nothing to scoff at. But this is more of a statement pick than an intelligent one. I think Rodgers has the goods to lead this team to the Super Bowl in one of the toughest NFC seasons we have seen in a long time. This is also a statement for Green Bay. If they drop this one, they will have a difficult time bouncing back. A win here puts the Pack in prime position to take back their division.

49ers over Giants – San Francisco travels to the New York Giants this week. Last week, San Francisco beat the Saint in New Orleans in overtime thriller, 27-24. The 49ers went back to their old ways of giving defenses a heavy dose of RB Frank Gore and using that to set up play action and take shots down the field. I can see the Giants doing a good job at stopping the run, but the Giants secondary has shown some weaknesses at times. Look for the 49ers wide receivers and TE Vernon Davis to really take advantage of those weaknesses. San Fran wins this one easily.
49ers 28 – Giants 14

Patriots over Colts – Tom Brady and the Patriots really can’t be stopped right now. They blew through Denver and are clicking on offense and doing enough on defense to hold the fort. I don’t see Andrew Luck and the Colts going quietly and it may turn into a shootout late, but the Pats are my pick in the end due to their hot streak. It will be wild and close.

Chargers over Raiders – Oakland still hasn’t won a game yet, and they won’t be winning one this weekend. They do have some upside in rookie QB Derek Carr, but that’s about it. Rivers will be coming off the bye week after a dreadful loss to the Miami Dolphins, so he will look to redeem himself here.
Chargers 38 – Raiders 24

Saints over Bengals – Drew Brees and the Saints lost a heartbreaker last week against the 49ers, and now welcome the Bengals to town. Cincinnati got crushed by Cleveland in every sense of the word last week, and will look to bounce back. Unfortunately for them, the Saints are a much tougher team at home. The high-powered offense of the Saints should overwhelm the defense of the Bengals, and pull off the victory this Sunday.

Chargers over Raiders – San Diego is at home this week and after losing 3 in a row and having a bye week I see them getting back to their winning ways at home against the winless Oakland Raiders. While Derek Carr may be the quarterback of the future for the Raiders a healthy Ryan Matthews should help Phillip Rivers and the offense share the wealth and get the job done.
Chargers 28 – Raiders 17
Ryan Melosi
Chargers over Raiders- San Diego has struggled of late, but coming out of their bye, at home, with a recently healthy Ryan Mathews should allow them to easily overcome the hapless Raiders. Chargers roll.
Chargers 34 – Raiders 13

Broncos over Rams – Reason – If I have to explain why the Broncos are a far superior team than the St Louis Rams, you need to give up on watching football. In fact, give up on watching TV in general. Become Amish.
Broncos 44 – Rams 17
