Missouri sophomore corner back Aarion Penton was arrested early Friday morning on suspicion of marijuana possession.

According to the police report, Penton was arrested on the MU campus around 1:40 a.m. in the area of Virginia Avenue and Rollins Street. Penton was cited for possessing less than 35 grams of marijuana, which is a Class A misdemeanor.

Penton has been indefinitely suspended from all football team activates, according to team spokesman Chad Moeller. It’s still unknown whether or not Penton will be available for the Nov. 15 matchup against Texas A&M.

This is the second time this year Penton has been arrested for such an offense. This past spring Penton was arrested for possession of marijuana along with a teammate and two Missouri basketball players.

Penton, who’s played in all nine games this year for the Tigers has three interceptions and leads the team with 10 passes deflected. If Penton does not play against the Aggies John Gibson will likely take over in his absence.

The Tigers are already without safety Braylon Webb for the first half of the game after he was ejected for targeting in Missouri’s win over Kentucky. Currently Missouri leads the SEC East with a record of 7-2 and is off this week with a bye.
