Just as suspected, A.J. Pierzynski is getting the start at catcher for the Cardinals in Game 3 of the NLCS today. I am in agreement for several reasons, one in particular being his history with Lackey back in Boston. Another being his addition of a left-handed bat in the lineup. That makes a total of 5 left-handed bats starting today against Tim Hudson, a career 3.19 ERA in the postseason, who believe it or not is finally getting to pitch in a League Championship Series after 16 years in the league.
