Home Baseball Hello, Friday!

Hello, Friday!

by Megan Foster

It’s been a long week. A really long week. (Sidebar: for those of you who don’t know, I live in Kansas City.) I mean, I had to cheer for the Royals. The Royals. So much so that I wore a Royals’ shirt…twice. I think it’s drained the life out of me.

But today…TODAY…it’s Friday! It’s playoff time! I’m happily wearing my Cardinal red. I happily dressed my two children up in Cardinal red. I took the life-size Justin Bieber cut out I have in my classroom (the one my 8th graders hate, but I love to torment them with) and put a “We Own the Central Shirt” on him. I found my one other Cardinal fan colleague who was in the building for a Cardinal fan picture opportunity with the Biebs. I’m ready to go. It’s been a long week.

Tonight, this pitching match up, it’s going to be one for the ages. Quite a pitching duel, having Wainwright and Kershaw pitch against each other. I told my 4-year-old son this fact this morning during breakfast. He agreed. It may even be as exciting as the Halladay/Carpenter match up from 2011.

I really want to write something witty. Something to get your attention here. Something you will remember for years to come, but I’ve got nothing. I’m just a normal girl who loves Cardinals’ baseball and like you, has waited all week for this game.

Dust off the rally caps, the playoffs are waiting!

Here’s to a successful beginning!

As always, Go Cards!
