Saint Louis volleyball is receiving votes in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll. It is the first appearance in the poll this season for the Billikens. The last time the Bills were ranked was the 14th poll of the 2009 season (No. 22).
The Billikens have notable wins over SEC foe Missouri and No. 15 Purdue (ranked No. 11 at the time of SLU match). Saint Louis had an eight-match winning streak, the second-longest streak in SLU volleyball history (the 2008 squad won 21 consecutive matches). Saint Louis is 10-4 overall (9-1 in September) and has reached 10 wins prior to October for the first time since 2008.
The Billikens open Atlantic 10 Conference play this weekend on the road. They take on La Salle on Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. (CT) and defending conference champion Duquesne on Sept. 28 at noon.
