Saint Louis had an eight-match win streak snapped with a 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 24-26, 21-25) loss to Notre Dame. With the loss, SLU falls to 9-4 on the year.
Several Billikens turned in strong performances against the Fighting Irish. Danielle Rygelski had a match-high 18 kills. Lauren Leverenz had 11 kills with a match-high .562 attack percentage.Meredith Boe led the match with 42 assists. Anna Church tallied 20 digs, also a match high.
In the first set, Rygelski notched five kills on 10 attempts and had a solo block. Nenye Okoro had a good set, with two kills and four digs with a solo block.
In set two, Leverenz paced the Billiken attack with five kills on six attempts and three digs. Rygelski had four kills and three digs while Okoro had four kills and four digs. Taylor Paulson tallied three blocks in the set.
After the break, Megan Gilbert and Okoro led the Billikens with four kills. Rygelsky also had three kills in the set.
In the fourth, Rygelski notched six kills on 10 attempts. Gilbert, Okoro, Leverenz and Paulson each had two kills.
Saint Louis wraps up the Active Ankle Challenge tomorrow at 4 p.m. against Morehead State.
