Blues Sign Ferriero to 1-Year Deal

St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has signed forward Benn Ferriero to a one-year, two-way contract.

Ferriero, 27, spent the majority of last season with the American Hockey League’s Utica Comets, ranking third on the club with 39 points and second with 19 goals in 54 regular season appearances.

In addition, he dressed in two games with the Vancouver Canucks in 2013-14.

Overall, the 5-foot-11, 187-pound forward has appeared in five NHL seasons, including stints with San Jose (2009-12), the New York Rangers (2012-13) and Vancouver. He has accrued 23 points (14 goals, nine assists) in 98 career regular season games, as well as one goal in eight career postseason games.

A National Champion with Boston College in 2008, Ferriero has also totaled 172 points (71 goals, 101 assists) in 232 AHL regular season games, and six points (four goals, two assists) in 11 AHL playoff appearances.

The Boston, Massachusetts native was originally drafted by Arizona in the seventh round, 196th overall, of the 2006 Entry Draft.
