Saint Louis associate head baseball coach Kevin Moulder has resigned his position at SLU to become the next head coach at Murray State University. Moulder is a 2004 graduate of Murray State.
“Obviously it is a bittersweet and proud day for Saint Louis University baseball and myself to see one of our own move on to get a head-coaching job at his alma mater,” Saint Louis head coach Darin Hendrickson said. “Kevin has been instrumental in our success from day one. He has been our chief recruiter, coached the pitchers and done a variety of work to build Saint Louis into a three-time Atlantic 10 Conference champion and help us to two regional appearances in the last four years. Kevin is a former player of mine and has been with me as a coach for nine years. I am proud of his growth and development as a coach and person. He is a proven winner, and we wish him well in his next step.“
Moulder joined the Billiken staff in 2008 when Hendrickson became the program’s head coach. Over the past seven years, he has been the team’s recruiting coordinator and pitching coach. SLU pitchers broke four single-season records and three career records.
Under his guidance in 2012, the Billiken staff boasted a 1.17 WHIP, which was sixth best in the nation. They also cracked the national top 20 in walks per game (2.35, 11th), strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.35, 13th) and ERA (3.06, 17th). The 2012 staff also led the A-10 in ERA.
