The Saint Louis baseball team fell to the UT Martin Skyhawks 9-2 in Martin, Tenn. Tuesday night. The Billikens are now 23-15 on the year. Freshman RHP Zach Girrens (0-3) took the loss.
The Bills opened the scoring in the second inning when Michael Cusenza ripped a single to center field, scoring two. However, the Skyhawks plated six runs in the bottom of the second, taking the lead for good.
UT Martin tallied additional runs in the third, fourth and seventh innings, bringing the score to 9-2.
Cusenza was the top performer for SLU at Martin. He went 2-4 with two RBI. Cusenza also recorded three assists without an error.
At the plate, Danny Brennan was 2-4 with two doubles.
The Billikens return to action this weekend, April 25-27, when they travel to Fairfax, Va. to take on Atlantic 10 newcomer George Mason.
