Cardinals announce roster moves

The St. Louis Cardinals announced following today’s game that they have sent nine players from their Major League camp to minor league camp.

Today’s moves include the following:

Optioned to the Memphis (AAA) roster were pitcher Angel Castro and outfielders Mike O’Neill andRafael Ortega.  Re-assigned to minor league camp were pitchers Kurt Heyer and Boone Whiting, infielder Patrick Wisdom and catchers Carson Kelly, Casey Rasmus and Cody Stanley.

The Cardinals re-assigned pitcher Marco Gonzales to minor league camp yesterday.

With today’s moves, the Cardinals now have 37 roster players and 12 non-roster players remaining in Major League Camp.
