Blues Alumni To Play Game Prior To Chill Game Today

by Press Release

The St. Charles Chill is excited to present Heroes Night on Saturday, March 8th at the Family Arena with legendary Chicago Blackhawk and hockey Hall of Famer Bobby Hull as well as a St. Louis Blues Alumni game.  The night will start off with the Blues Alumni taking on the Police/Fire Hockey teams in a game benefiting Responder Rescue and The Backstoppers.  The puck will drop on the Alumni game at 5 p.m. and doors will open at 4:30 p.m.  Tickets are good for both games, and fans still looking to purchase tickets can do so online at www.metrotix.com by using the code “Heroes” or at The Family Arena box office.  Five dollars from every ticket sold will go to Responder Rescue and The Backstoppers.

Following the Alumni game, the Chill will drop the puck at 7:05 p.m. for their Heroes game in which they will honor first responders, local heroes, military, and youth heroes on the ice with the Missouri Amateur Hockey Awards.

Former Blues defenseman and current general manager and head coach for the Chill, Jamie Rivers, will suit up for the Alumni along with assistant coach J.P. Beilsten.  Tony Twist, Bobby Plager, and Jon Wensink will man the bench for the Alumni team that features former Blues Jim Campbell, Bob Gassoff, Reed Low, Bruce Affleck, and many others (see roster below).

The first 1,500 fans at the two games will receive a Bobby Hull poster, and “The Golden Jet” himself will sign autographs starting at 5:30 until 7 p.m. and again in the second and third periods. Fans can also bring a maximum of two personal items to be autographed by Bobby Hull for ten dollars per item.  The Blues Alumni will also sign autographs from approximately 6:15 to 7:05p.m. on the concourse.  In addition to the poster giveaway, 1,500 fans will receive a commemorative stress puck.
