Saint Louis sophomore pitcher Brianna Lore (Sullivan, Mo./Sullivan) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference softball Player of the Week for Feb. 24-March 2.

Lore registered a .571 batting average (4-for-7) with a double, a walk and six RBIs at the plate, plus a win and a save in the circle, to lead the Billikens to a 2-0 record at the All-Missouri Cancer Classic March 1.

In an 11-1 win over Missouri State, Lore delivered a two-out, three-run double in the top of the first inning to stake Saint Louis to a 3-0 lead, and she added an RBI single in the fifth. She also was the winning pitcher, surrendering only four hits and one run and not walking a batter.

Lore made hitting and pitching contributions in a 7-4 victory over Southeast Missouri State as well. Her two-out, two-run single in the fifth inning gave SLU a 5-4 lead after the Billikens had trailed 4-1. Lore pitched the final two innings to notch her first save of the season, allowing just one walk and fanning three.

For the season, Lore is 5-3 with a 2.86 ERA in the circle. She is tied for the team lead in RBIs (nine) and is second in batting average (.412).

The Billikens, whose 8-3 record ties for the second-best 11-game start in program history, return to action this weekend at the TSU Tiger Invitational, hosted by Tennessee State in Nashville.
