Chill Outshoots Arizona but Sundogs Win

by Press Release

The Chill outshot the Arizona Sundogs 30-27 but could not crack netminder Andrew Engelage and the Sundogs added a goal in each period for a 3-0 win Friday night at The Family Arena.

St. Charles (8-23-5) kept the pressure on the Sundogs (13-18-1) with shot after shot in the first period but Engelage was on his way to being named the first star.  Robby Moss made some outstanding saves for the Chill in the first before Arizona cracked the scoreboard in the final two minutes of the period with a power play goal from Paul McIlveen, his tenth, on a helper from Brandon Coccimiglio to carry a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

The Chill continued to battle without their captain Jordan Fox (lower body injury) and with some new faces on the roster, including Charles Lachance and Mike MacIntyre who each owned their fight on the night.  The night would belong to the Sundogs as Ian Schultz lit the lamp in the second period to stretch the lead to 2-0 at the 7:26 mark and close chance after close chance escaped the Chill.

The game would remain 2-0 until the final minutes when Arizona added an empty netter to seal the win and their fourth-straight win on the road.

St. Charles begins a long road stretch with games against the Brampton Beast in Toronto followed by a pair against the Allen Americans just north of Texas before returning home for a matchup against the cross-state rival Missouri Mavericks on January 29th.  For group ticket packages, sponsorships, and more information on the St. Charles Chill visit StCharlesChill.com.
