The Central Hockey League announced today that St. Charles Chill defenseman Dan Weiss has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending December 15, 2013.

The rookie defenseman helped fuel the Chill’s offense this past week scoring goals in three of the team’s four games. Weiss netted the game winning goal in St. Charles’ 3-1 win in Denver on Wednesday night and also scored goals in the team’s loss in Rapid City on Tuesday and scored the Chill’s lone goal in their loss to Wichita on Saturday.
The Ballwin, Missouri native joined the Chill on November 20 and in the 12 games he has played, has totaled three goals with four assists and a +3 plus/minus rating. In his short time with the team, Weiss is already the team’s second highest scoring defenseman and has the second best plus/minus rating.
