General Manager and head coach Jamie Rivers shook up the roster this week, waiving forwards Chad Costello and Kyle Kraemer, as the team looks to turn around its 2-5-2 start to the inaugural season heading into this weekend’s games at The Family Arena starting at 7:05 on Friday and Saturday night against the Arizona Sundogs.
Costello and Kraemer were leading the team in shots (31 and 30 respectively) and were tied for first and third on the team in points (9, 7). Costello had been on injured reserve for the last week and rookie Phil Bushbacher took full advantage of the opportunity during the road trip in Tulsa last weekend, notching his first career goal and tallying three points (2-1) in the two-game series. St. Charles has struggled on both ends in the early going, scoring just 3.0 goals per game but have been working on tightening things up defensively. The Chill are surrendering 4.78 goals per game overall but have started to show improvement, allowing 3.3 per game over the last three games.
The last place Sundogs (2-8-1) wrap up their 12-day road trip this weekend after ending an eight-game losing streak on Tuesday with a 3-2 OT win in Denver. Arizona has won both of their games on the road this season, but like St. Charles has struggled to score overall, averaging just 2.45 goals per game.
The Chill is at The Family Arena Friday and Saturday night against the Arizona Sundogs with the puck drop scheduled for 7:05. Single-game tickets start as low as $5 and are available through MetroTix and at The Family Arena box office.
