Chill Set To Take On Mavericks

by Randall Ritchey

The St. Charles Chill are set to take on the Missouri Mavericks tonight at the Family Arena in St. Charles with a little different look than they have had this season thus far.

The Chill have added defensemen Tony DeHart to the roster and waived defensemen Sean Fitzpatrick. DeHart brings a unique look to this Chill defensive squad. DeHart’s combination of size and speed to the blueline will add a new dynamic to the transition game and will bring support on the back check. DeHart is a two-way defensemen who has a strong offensive game. He adds a booming shot to the blueline and his speed will help on both sides of the puck.

The Chill have waived forward Matt Whitehead as well so it looks like forward Max Mobley will remain on the roster for the Chill. Mobley adds a lot of speed to the Chill roster, as the 5’7, 170 pound forward can absolutely fly on the ice. He generates a lot of scoring chances with his speed alone, but also possess nice puck skills when he’s down low in the offensive zone. His speed, much like DeHart on the blueline, allows him to put a lot of pressure on the defensive side of the puck.

The Mavericks will have a different look to their line up this game compared to last game against the Chill. the Mavericks are without forward Colt King, and defensemen Dave Pszenyczny. Both players have been suspended for actions in Saturday’s game against the Arizona Sundogs.

Chill forward Steven Anthony has been moved from 14-day injured reserve to 30 day injured reserve.

Goaltender Robby Moss will get the start in net tonight against the Mavericks. Moss helped earn the Chill their first ever franchise win in a shootout against the Quad City Mallards.
