The St. Charles Chill, a proud affiliate of the St. Louis Blues, are preparing for a tough stretch of hockey with three-straight games on the docket starting at 7:05 on Friday night at The Family Arena and concluding Sunday at 4:05 back in St. Charles.
Between the two home games is a trip to the Quad Cities to reignite an old St. Charles rivalry with the Mallards (0-1-0).
The Chill (0-0-1) opened their inaugural season last Saturday by battling back from a 2-0 third period deficit to force overtime with just over a minute left in regulation before falling to the Missouri Mavericks (1-0-0) 3-2 in a shootout.
The Americans (1-0-1) took home the President’s Cup last season as the CHL champions and visit The Family Arena for the first of four trips this season. They opened up the season with a home-and-home series with Wichita, each team winning on the other’s ice in a shootout.
Saturday the Chill hits the road for the first time this season, beginning a home-and-home with the Quad City Mallards that concludes in St. Charles on Sunday at 4:05. The Mallards opened their season last Saturday with a 6-4 home loss at the i-wireless Center. They return to St. Charles on Sunday at 4:05 for the first time since 2006 when the Missouri River Otters played in the United Hockey League.
