A trio of River City Rascals will be representing the Frontier League at next month’s Can-Am League vs. Frontier League All-Star Game at Palisades Credit Union Park in Rockland County, N.Y., as second basemand Trevor Achenbach, third baseman Braxton Martinez and outfielder Kameron Esthay were all named to the squad on Friday. Both Achenbach and Esthay were named starters.
Achenbach is hitting .291 on the season with four home runs and 17 RBIs. The 25-year-old is in his second season with the team and third as a professional. Esthay is hitting .275 with three home runs, 13 doubles and 25 RBIs, in his first year with the team after spending the last two seasons in the Washington Nationals organization. Martinez, a local product, is hitting .281 with six home runs and 27 RBIs, while also leading the team with 28 walks drawn. He is the longest tenured Rascals player on the roster, as 2019 marks his fourth season with the team.
2019 marks the first season of the joint-effort between the leagues for their annual Midsummer Classic. The game will be played on July 10th. The Rascals hosted the 2018 Frontier League All-Star Game at CarShield Field.
