Home Baseball Who Should Win the NL Central

Who Should Win the NL Central

by Scott Criscione

As Spring Training approaches and all of us fans of America’s past time rejoice it is also time for us in the media to figure out the important questions. Like who’s on first? What’s on second? Or who should win the NL Central.

While the national media claims who won and lost the offseason and who is favored to win it all let us remember last years most likely to win it all, the Nationals. Also let’s remember who won the 2015 offseason, the Padres and White Sox. Instead of following the trends, I looked into the numbers and stats and make some projections.

This looks to be an interesting season as two teams are rebuilding, and three others battle it out to avoid a dreaded Wild Card position (the Pirates are all to familiar with the one-game playoff).

Below are the rankings of each team by position groups of: Catcher, Infield, Outfield, Starters, Relievers. The team with the best overall rankings are my team that should win the NL Central.

(ignore the add to list button, still working out the kinks of a new feature).
