The St. Louis Cardinals have released their roster changes for the NLCS. They have added veteran left-handed bat AJ Pierzynski and removed reliever Sam Freeman.
Per Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, “Wainwright said in Game 1 (of NLDS) he aggravated area behind right elbow, as he did vs Tampa Bay, and he’s ‘on the mend.’ Wainwright stresses, as he has all season, that this is not the ligament on his elbow, not the UCL, not one repaired by Tommy John surgery.”
Game 1 starters will be Adam Wainwright and Madison Bumgarner. The San Francisco Giants have yet to release their remaining starters for the series.
