The Missouri Tigers basketball team moved to 2-1 on the season after defeating Oral Roberts University 78-64. After shooting 40 and 38 percent in their first two games the Tigers shot a much-improved 51 percent from the field in Wednesday nights victory. Montaque Gill-Caesar led the way with 19 points and four rebounds.

Backed by Obi Emegano’s career high 30-point night Oral Roberts carried the lead through the majority of the first half. Though Missouri hung close never trailing by more than eight points. At the break the Golden Eagles led 40-38 at the half.

In the second half Missouri continued to battle in a back and forth contest, but it wasn’t until Gill-Caesar connected on a three-point attempt midway through the second half when the Tigers offense came to life. Missouri went on a 12-4 run that was backed by four three-pointers. The balanced scoring attack was a change of pace for the struggling offense.

Missouri moved the ball well throughout the game recording 16 assists nine of which came from Wes Clark. Clark also continued to shoot the ball consistently as he recorded 14 points.

The Tigers rally down the stretch helped Missouri secure the 78-64 victory as it was the offense getting the job done over the defense. The Tigers are next in action against #2 Arizona on Nov. 24.
