by Press Release

St. Charles got goals from Kyle O’Kane and Frank Littlejohn but a 3-0 first period deficit was too much to overcome as the Chill lost to the defending champion Allen Americans 5-2 Friday night in Texas.

The Americans (24-10-4) took at 2-0 lead in the first three minutes of the opening period and added a goal at the 12:16 mark to race out to a 3-0 lead before St. Charles (9-26-5) dented the scoreboard on O’Kane’s 16th from Sean Muncy and Dan Weiss to close the gap to 3-1.

Allen opened the second period with a goal in the first two minutes to grab a three goal lead at 4-1 before the Chill responded on a goal from a pair of veterans.  Frank Littlejohn scored his first with St. Charles on an assist from Martin Hlinka to put the score at 4-2 late in the second period.  Allen added a goal midway through the final period to count for the final score of 5-2.
