Redbirds offense explodes for 12 runs in win at Knights

MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds continued a six-game series against the Charlotte Knights with a 12-9 win at Truist Park on Friday night.

The Redbirds jumped out to a big lead after the first three frames. Shortstop Masyn Winn started things off with a home run on the first pitch of the game. The home run was the second leadoff home run by a Memphis Redbird this season.

Designated hitter Luken Baker and centerfielder Richie Palacios each clubbed a home run in the win. Each of the first three batters in the lineup hit a homer. In total, six Redbirds posted multi-hit efforts.

Gordon Graceffo allowed six runs on eight hits in 4.2 innings pitched. The right-handed pitcher walked three and struck out eight batters. Reliever Chris Roycroft (1-0) earned his first Triple-A win.
