Saint Louis guards Yuri Collins and Gibson Jimerson earned Atlantic 10 Conference All-Conference honors, the league announced today prior to tipoff of the A-10 Men’s Basketball Championship at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Collins was named first-team All-Conference and was voted to the six-man All-Defensive team. Jimerson was named second-team All-Conference and is a member of the five-man All-Academic team. The honors were voted upon by the league’s 15 head coaches.

Collins becomes the third Billiken to earn back-to-back first-team All-Conference nods, joining Dwayne Evans (2013 and 2014) and Jordan Goodwin (2020 and 2021). Collins was named to the All-Defensive team for a second consecutive year as well.

Jimerson improved to the second team after being tabbed to the third team last season. He was named to the All-Academic team for the third year in a row.

Collins is the NCAA leader in total assists (304) and assists average (10.1 per game). Earlier this season, he broke the A-10 career assists record (858 and counting…) and became the league’s single-season assists leader. Collins also averages 11.3 ppg, making him the only player in the NCAA averaging a points/assists double-double.

Yesterday, Collins was named one of five finalists for the Bob Cousy Award, which goes to the NCAA’s top point guard (read more).

Jimerson leads the Billikens in scoring with 14.0 ppg. He is second in the A-10 in 3-point field-goal percentage, connecting on 39.7 percent from the arc. His 2.61 3-pointers made per game are second in the league. On SLU’s career lists, Jimerson is fourth all-time in school history with 229 career 3-pointers made. His 81 treys this season are fifth in a single season in school history.

Jimerson, who graduated in the fall with a degree in International Business, is up for Academic All-American after receiving the honor last season as well.

The Billikens are the No. 4 seed in the A-10 Men’s Basketball Championship and open play Thursday at 1 p.m. (CT) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The Bills play either #13 UMass, #12 Richmond or #5 George Mason.
