McDonalds Testing Strawless Lids

by Mick Lite

McDonalds is testing a strawless lid in select U.S. markets that enables consumers to drink their cold beverages without spilling or using a plastic straw.

“These lids will help optimize our packaging and eliminate the use of small plastics, just one example of the many solutions we’re reviewing as part of our ongoing global commitment to reduce waste across restaurants and advance recycling.”

In markets where it is being tested, customers can request a straw if they want one, but they aren’t being handed out automatically.
