ST. LOUIS AMBUSH JOURNEY TO UTICA SUNDAY

by Mick Lite

The St. Louis Ambush travel to the Mohawk Valley in New York to clash with Utica City FC at the Adirondack Bank Center Sunday, January 5 at 1:05 p.m. CST.

Sunday’s contest is the only one between St. Louis and Utica scheduled for the 2022-23 MASL regular season. It is also the only game for each team this weekend. Utica comes into the contest with a 3-5-0 record, while St. Louis is 2-4-1. Both teams will be hungry for a win as each has lost three of their last four games.

Utica head coach Hewerton Moreira held the same position for the Ambush from 2017 to 2021. Utica forward Gordy Gurson played with the Ambush from 2014-16 and midfielder Dylan Hundelt played for St. Louis from 2015-18. Needless to say, all three will be looking to make a good showing against their former club.

The Ambush will get a test of their roster depth as they enter the weekend with ten players listed as either probable, questionable, doubtful or out due to either illness or injury.

Following Sunday’s match, the next Ambush game will be on friendly turf as they host the cross-state rival Kansas City Comets Friday, January 20, 2023 at 7:35 p.m. CST at The Family Arena. All Ambush games are available for webcast at twitch.com.

Tickets for all Ambush home games are available from the Family Arena box office and ticketmaster.com. For season or group tickets, call the Ambush office at 636-477-6363. Fans can stay current on all Ambush news by visiting the team’s official website, stlambush.com and on social media outlets.
