Lindenwood Football Recognized in FCS Coaches Poll

The Lindenwood football team (5-2, 1-2 OVC) has come into the week receiving votes in the FCS Coaches Poll, which was released on Monday.  This is the second time this season that the Lions have appeared in the poll for receiving votes.

The Lions are on a roll after stringing together three-straight wins, including its first official conference victory over Murray State this past Saturday.  The Lions secured the 15-point victory, with an all-around team effort.  Darion Bolden registered a 99-yard pick six in the third quarter to give the Lions a lead.  Payton Rose hauled in three passes for 111 yards and a score, setting the school record for receiving yards in a career on his first reception.  Logan Seibert knocked through a pair of field goals, including a 45-yarder later in the first half.

Cade Brister is averaging 358.4 total offensive yards per game, which is the third-most at the FCS level.  Bolden is just one pass defended off from the FCS leader, as the St. Louis, Mo. native has 11 pass breakups and two interceptions.  Rose is posting receiving yardage numbers that are near the top in the nation, as the Cumberland, Wis. native has tallied 716 yards through seven games.

Lindenwood will return to the field on Saturday, as the Lions host William Jewell at 1:00 p.m. from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.
