PRAISE FOR MISADVENTURES OF DOOMSCROLLER:

“It’s the biggest left turn that Dawes has made on record yet…DOOMSCROLLER makes a lot more sense on about the fourth or fifth listen, and may even stand as one of their most enjoyable collections.”

– VARIETY

“Dawes’ stylistic explorations here feel akin to how their similarly inclined contemporaries Wilco also profoundly

expanded their sound with 2001’s Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.”

– ALLMUSIC

‘Dawes have never sounded more musically sophisticated… As usual, Taylor Goldsmith’s songs draw on 1970s Calirock, but exploratory instrumental sections stretch several tracks to opus length.”

– UNCUT (8/10)

“Dawes take the opportunity to use their eighth album to stretch out, explore, and jam together…The jammy concept is one the band has dabbled in occasionally on studio tracks throughout their career, but they lean into it on MISADVENTURES OF DOOMSCROLLER – and to great effect.”

– NO DEPRESSION

“The tracks on the new record are muscular, strong,

and supported by their own artistry.”

 – AMERICAN SONGWRITER

“The tunes are delivered in such a casual, almost improvisational style, you almost feel like you’ve stumbled into some basement-club jam session. It’s a whole new Dawes – listeners had better brace for impact.”

– PASTE

“MISADVENTURES OF DOOMSCROLLER is a player’s album. Its seven tracks offer

plenty of opportunities for the Southern California quartet to demonstrate why they’re

one of the most fluid, skilled, and creative outfits in rock today.”

– MAGNET

“This is easily Dawes’ most musically adventurous album to date, where any Jackson Browne-tinged folk balladry is turned inside out for fusion-flavored wonderment.”

– GLIDE

“Dawes expand their horizons and deliver a complex and brilliant album for our times…in summary, this is an album by a band totally at one with each other and is a great musical experience.”

– AMERICANA UK
