Scott Mellanby named Senior Advisor to the GM

St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that former Blue Scott Mellanby has been named Senior Advisor to the General Manager.

Mellanby, 56, spent nine seasons with the Montreal Canadiens as Assistant General Manager. He played 21 seasons in the NHL, registering 840 points (364 goals, 476 assists) in 1,431 career games. Mellanby played four seasons with the Blues, netting 137 points (62 goals, 75 assists) in 235 career games from 2001-04.

Armstrong also announced that Tim Taylor has been named Director of Player Personnel, J Niemiec has been promoted to Assistant Director of Amateur Scouting. Bobby Kinsella has been named full-time amateur scout in the United States, Tommy Sjodin has been named pro scout in Europe and former Blue Chris Thorburn has been named Player Development Coach.
