All Elite Wrestling Pushes Chaifetz Arena Debut to November

by Brian Ledford

Officials with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) announced Monday that the nationally-touring professional wrestling company would return to public performances outside of its JacksonvIlle, Florida home base beginning in July, which affects their scheduled June debut in St. Louis.

The franchise was slotted for Chaifetz Arena on June 23 and has now rescheduled the live event for Friday, November 5. The June date was to be a live broadcast of their weekly “AEW Dynamite” program that airs Wednesdays on Turner Network Television (TNT). The new Friday November event is still being listed as a televised event for TNT, although as of press time it is uncertain if the  event will air live on the cable network or produced for re-broadcast at a later date.

Pre-pandemic, AEW was originally scheduled for Chaifetz in April 2020. The date was subsequently moved to October 2020 then to the most-recent June slot.

Original ticket holders will still be able to use their advance tickets for the November 5 event or can receive a refund via the point of purchase.

In their Monday reveal, officials announced “AEW Dynamite” live Wednesday events to take place in Miami, Florida (July 7), Cedar Park (Austin), Texas (July 14) and Garland (Dallas), Texas (July 21).

For the past nine months in front of socially-distanced audiences, AEW has been presenting live televised events in Jacksonville, Florida at Daily’s Place, an outdoor amphitheater that is connected to TIAA Bank Field, the home of the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars.

“We’ve missed touring cities, meeting fans and hearing the roar during our live shows,” said Tony Khan, CEO, General Manager and Head of Creative of AEW in a press release. “Please be assured, we are working closely with the venues to comply with state and local regulations in each city. Miami, Austin and Dallas are the first of many as we gear up the trucks to travel around the country again.”

“AEW Dynamite” can be see locally on TNT Wednesday nights at 7 pm. For more information, go to their official website.
