Climatic Clashes Set For Arch Rival’s Saturday Twin Bill

The four-wheeled frenzy of Arch Rival Roller Derby is set for their final regular season event this weekend and the twin bill showcases an early preview of late-April’s championship event.

The double header takes place Saturday at Midwest Sport Hockey in Queeny Park (570 Weidman Rd. – Ballwin, MO).

In the 6:30 pm opener, defending ARCH champions the Stunt Devils battle the M-80s. Meanwhile in the night cap, Rebel Skate Alliance tussles with the Smashinistas.

What’s interesting about this twin bill is that it gives a glimpse of the match-ups that will take place at the League’s trophy finale on April 27. Call it a preview of greatness to come.

For the opener that teams battling for a third place finish later this month, the M-80s executed at extremely high levels in mid-March and posted an impressive 216-143 victory over the Smashinistas. Not only did the duke provide the team with their first win of the season but it also gave the squad renewed enthusiasm.

Jammers L’Oakey Dokie, Owl Wing It! and Camp Kwitcherbitchin’ is set to pace the scoring in front of a blocking battalion consisting of dad bod, Scouts Horror, Special Brownies, Pecan Misandry, Slam Shakusky, Crumbledore, Curl Scout, Wood Bang, Merit Badger, S’more Cowbell and Trampfire.

Meanwhile, the Stunt Devils kept tight to undefeated Rebel Skate Alliance in their March meeting and hope to keep their upward stock intact. Jammers Scarrie Fisher, Slamgelina Jolie, Force Choke, Zoe Hell and Toni Smaxton will be aided by blockers of Rhonda Lousey, Black Dynamite, Mya Pinion, Kill-Ya Knightly, Ginger Assassin, Reese Wither(n’Die)Spoon, Fast ‘n’ Lucy Liu, Nunchucks Norris, Sir Ian McKillin’ and Glenn Close But No Cigar.

Saturday’s finale features the squads that will compete for the ARCH local trophy later in the month so early bragging rights are on the line.

Rebel Skate Alliance (5-0) remained undefeated after their 42-point win over the Stunts last month. Their jamming rotation of Darth Tator, Admiral Aggbar, Boba Flash and Indiana Bones will be supplemented by blockers Endorable!, Storm Bruiser, Han Rolo, Obi-Wan Kenosebleed, Jabba the Butt, Spock N’ Roll, Zombie Plagueis, Wookie Monster, Lethal Dose, SITH HAPPENS! Yoda Blow and Titanium Falcon.

The Smashies (3-2) look to notch a key win over the top-ranked team. Jammers Frowntown , Skeevie Nicks and Smashing Violet will be assisted by blockers Cloak N’ Dragher, CQ, Gnarley Carbsmashian, Smash Money, Oliver Smash, Smashsquatch, chill beans, Nigel Smashberry, WyldeSyde, Regrets and the Monster Smash.
