THE BASICS
• Three Saint Louis players scored 20 or more points, and the Billikens registered their season scoring high in a 93-61 victory over Florida Atlantic in the consolation game of the FAU Holiday Classic Saturday at FAU Arena.
• Brooke Flowers led the way with her second consecutive double-double, leading all players with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Flowers set her career scoring high and equaled her career rebounding high.
• Flowers was named to the All-Tournament team. She averaged 19 points and 12 rebounds, shot 51.4 percent from the field and blocked four shots in two games.
• Ciaja Harbison (7-of-11 FG, 7-of-8 FT) and Jordyn Frantz netted 21 and 20 points, respectively. Harbison added a game- and career-high eight assists, while Frantz connected on four 3-pointers and grabbed five rebounds.
• SLU concluded nonconference play with a 5-8 record. Florida Atlantic, a member of Conference USA, slipped to 3-10.
FIRST QUARTER
• There were four ties in the opening stanza, the final one a 13-13 deadlock with 4:08 remaining.
• Saint Louis took over from there, ending the period on a 17-3 run that resulted in a 30-16 cushion. Frantz led the charge with eight points, including two 3-pointers.
SECOND QUARTER
• A three-point play by Myia Clark pushed the Billikens’ lead past 20 for the first time, 41-20, at the 6:53 mark.
• Saint Louis led by as many as 30 points before settling for a 53-24 halftime advantage. Frantz finished the half with 17 points as the Billikens shot 59.4 percent (19-of-32) overall and 62.5 percent (5-of-8) from 3-point distance.
SECOND HALF
• FAU narrowed the SLU lead to 15, 62-47, with 2:14 left in the third quarter.
• However, the Billikens regained command with a 7-1 spurt to finish the period on top 69-48.
• FAU drew no closer than 18 points, 71-53, in the fourth quarter. The Billikens outscored the Owls 22-8 the rest of the way.
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• Saint Louis posted season highs in points, field goals (36), field goal percentage (.537), 3-point field goal percentage (.444), free throw percentage (.867) and assists (18). The Billikens matched their season high of 45 rebounds and earned a 45-27 advantage on the glass.
• The Billikens had just three fewer turnovers (11) than FAU (14), but they outscored the Owls 27-4 in points off turnovers.
• SLU’s 30 points in the first quarter are the most for the Bills in any quarter this season. The 53 first-half points are the most for Saint Louis in any half this year.
• Brooke Flowers was 11-of-18 from the field and tied career highs of four offensive rebounds and three blocks.
• Myia Clark (5-of-8 FG) scored 13 points, led all players with a career-high three steals and collected six rebounds including a career-high-tying three offensive boards.
• Chloe Rice grabbed a career-high four rebounds.
• Tasia Jeffries pulled down a career-high four rebounds.
• Evan Zars had five rebounds in just 11 minutes.
