The Chill found themselves down 2-0 in the first few minutes of the contest but battled back to tie the score at 3-3 early in the third on a goal from Nicklas Lindberg but the Beast answered with two-straight to take a 5-3 win and series sweep in a battle of expansion teams.

The Chill (10-36-6) fell behind 2-0 in the first four minutes.  Andrew Fournier knocked in his team-high 22nd goal just 24 second in for Brampton (27-21-5) and Matt Caruana added one three minutes later to help dig an early hole for the visitors.  St. Charles would answer quickly on the power play.  Dan Weiss put in his sixth goal of the season on helpers from Lindberg and John Snowden, their 29th and 15th point respectively, that closed the score to 2-1.  The Chill would finish the period on the penalty kill but hold off the Beast and the lead would remain at 2-1 entering intermission.

After killing off the final seconds of a Beast power play, the teams skated even for 10 minutes before Brampton stretched their lead back to two goals on one by Tylor Michel but St. Charles would respond quickly once again, getting their second power play goal of the game, this time from Martin Hlinka, to close the score to 3-2 and a one-goal game once again.  Weiss and Lindberg gathered their second points of the night on assists and the game would remain 3-2 heading into the final period.

The Chill would continue to put on the offensive pressure to start the third and it Lindberg made it pay off, tying the score at 3-3 under three minutes into the frame with rookie Travis Ouellette dishing out the assist.   The Beast would answer, converting a 2-on-1 into a 4-3 lead at the 8:16 mark of the third on a goal from Michael MacIsaac and made it 5-3 on a goal from Josh McQuade at the midpoint of the period.  The Brampton defense shut down St. Charles the rest of the way to finish off the series sweep in the final meeting between the two expansion teams this season.

St. Charles returns to the Family Arena February 28th for Brett Hull Night and Mascot Madness with a specialty jersey auction.  Pay What You Can Night is Saturday, March 1st with a family-oriented Mardi Gras Party.  For more information on the Chill, or for group tickets, call 636.724.SHOT (7468) or visit www.stcharleschill.com.
