SCDC claimed a 177-122 triumph over Cape Girardeau Roller Derby last Saturday to improve to 2-0 in their 2022 return.

”Morale is great coming out of the win,” said St. Chux President Al B. Hatin. “But we have some things that we are refining this week.”

In the game against Cape, SCDC sprinted out to a 31-0 lead out of the gates and utilized that momentum in their 55-point duke.

Jammers Trekkie Monster, Rusty Nails, Rocky Who and LaDi DaDi each posted 20-point-plus outputs in the victory and all will be in the rotation Saturday. Bomber Betty and CC Devillian are also projected to “don the star” during rotations.

Blocking-wise, SCDC will be fronted by Hatin, Shakilla, Iron Megan, Sailor Goon, Slay Anything, Mean Jean and Cyborg.

Their Saturday foes, Black-n-Bluegrass, have also had a successful return to the flat-track in 2022. The hosts improved their record to 3-0 following a 152-113 road victory over Rockford Rage in late-August.

Hatin knows that her squad has to perform at optimal levels in the battle of unbeatens.

“We would like to see our offense-to-defense happen a little quicker,” she said. “All in all, we are going into Saturday with a love for the sport and looking forward to meeting up with another great team of humans.”

But playing spoiler after the final whistle wouldn’t hurt, right?

St. Chux hosts a newcomer bootcamp in October that takes place Monday nights at the Great Skate for a $40 overall fee. For more information on SCDC, visit their website.
