SLU Men’s Soccer | Billikens Fall 3-0 to SMU

by Brian Kunderman

SMU scored in the second minute and never looked back in a 3-0 win over the host Saint Louis Billikens Friday night at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.

Saint Louis dips to 1-3 with the loss, while SMU improves to 4-1 with the victory.

Knut Ahlander opened the scoring at the 1:07 mark when he put home a pass from Alexander Petraeus on the doorstep. The score remained 1-0 at halftime.

Early in the second half, Petraeus got into the scoring column after a run and pass from Fredrick Skillberg. Petraeus took his time and put one into the back of the net for the 2-0 Mustangs advantage.

Kyran Chambron Pinho provided the third and final goal for SMU when he rifled a free kick just outside of the outstretched arms of SLU keeper Yuval Sade.

Twenty Billikens saw playing time. SMU outshot the Bills 18-12, while SLU had a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Saint Louis is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to SIUE for the Bronze Boot game in Edwardsville, Ill. Game time at Korte Stadium is 7 p.m.
