NWA Wrestling Returns To St. Louis For August PPV Events At The Chase Park Plaza

by Brian Ledford

Returning to St. Louis after a triumphant weekend held last summer, the National Wrestling Alliance presents another pair of hard-hitting, squared-circled pay-per-view showcases at the Chase Park Plaza Royal Sonesta in August.

The two-night “NWA 74” event at the historic Khorassan Ballroom takes place Saturday and Sunday, August 27-28. Tickets for the live action can be found here and both will be available for purchase on PPV cable outlets as well as through the FITETV streaming service.

Celebrating a “Wrestling at the Chase” theme, the “NWA Empowerrr” and “NWA 73” cards held in August 2021 resulted in back-to-back sellout nights within the Central West End ballroom.

“We made a promise last year to return to St. Louis and bring quality matches and wrestling legends to our fans,” said NWA President Billy Corgan in anticipation of the upcoming twin bill. “That’s exactly what we are doing during this two-day wrestling pay-per-view.”

In 2017, the Smashing Pumpkins’ founder and lead singer purchased the wrestling organization, which was founded in 1948 and was locally popularized with the “Wrestling at the Chase” television franchise that was seen on KPLR-TV from 1959 until 1983.

Currently, the NWA presents two weekly programs (NWA Powerrr and NWA USA) that can be seen online and has expanded their televised pay-per-views to six annually.

Match announcements, fan fest details and the list of legends who will be appearing in St. Louis will be announced through the NWA social media channels over the next few weeks.
