Memphis Redbirds Acquired By Diamond Baseball Holdings

by Mick Lite
An entertainment and events company called Endeavor (they own the UFC and PBR) just bought 9 MiLB teams under the name Diamond Baseball Holdings.

Memphis Redbirds, Iowa Cubs, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, Hudson Valley Renegades, San Jose Giants, Gwinnett Stripers, Mississippi Braves, Rome Braves, and Augusta GreenJackets.

Peter Freund (who the Cardinals sold the Redbirds to a few years ago) is the new chief executive of Diamond Baseball Holdings.

The Redbirds will still be a Cardinals affiliate and continue to be led by President/GM Craig Unger.

They are in ‘late stages’ of negotiations to purchase other teams as well.
