Grizzlies Swept After 7-1 Loss To Otters

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Grizzlies were swept for the first time this season after the Otters took game three of the series in Evansville 7-1 on Thursday,

The Otters strung together three quick runs in the 1st inning on an Elijah MacNamee homerun. The former Mississippi State Bulldog brought home another run on an RBI single in the 3rd. J.R. Davis capped off the scoring in the 7th with a three-run blast to make it 7-0 Evansville.

The lone Grizzlies run came home on an Axel Johnson groundout in the top of the 8th. Johnson leads Gateway with 10 RBI.

RHP Tim Holdgrafer (1-1) earned his first professional win while LHP Colton Easterwood (0-1) got charged with the loss in his first professional decision.

The Grizzlies head back to GCS Credit Union Ballpark for the first time in a week on Friday to start a three-game home series with the Joliet Slammers.  First pitch is set for 6:45 p.m. and you can listen live on YO Radio or watch on Frontier League TV starting with the Budweiser Pregame Show at 6:30 p.m.
