The St. Louis Ambush (7-7) host the Dallas Sidekicks (1-7) Friday evening at 7:35 p.m. CST at Axius Field at The Family Arena. It will be the final game of the 2021 regular season for the Ambush, while the Sidekicks will play two more times after Friday to conclude their season.
Friday’s duel will be a tune up for postseason play, as both teams are among the seven active MASL teams that will participate in the 2021 Ron Newman Cup playoffs. The league announced the playoff format earlier this week.
The Ambush and Sidekicks have clashed once this season, with the Ambush coming away victorious in a 6-5 contest on January 9 at the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas. The Ambush will be looking to build on their most recent outing, a 5-6 overtime win over the Tacoma Stars last Sunday at the Family Arena. The Sidekicks come to town hoping to break a three-game losing streak.
All MASL teams will have wrapped up regular season play by March 20. Once seeding for the postseason is determined, the dates and times for the first round of the playoffs will be announced, but the Ambush will host at least one first round game at the Family Arena.
