The St. Louis Ambush have added some offensive firepower to their roster by acquiring forward Anthony Grant from the Kansas City Comets for future considerations. Per league and team policies, no further details of the deal have been disclosed.

Grant, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, comes to the Ambush with three years of experience in the Major Arena Soccer League. He played for the Syracuse Silver Knights (2014-15) and two seasons with the Comets (2017-19). In 49 MASL games, Grant compiled a career record of 46 goals and 11 assists. Grant has also played with the Seacoast United Phantoms (USL PDL), Richmond Kickers (USL) and Stumptown Athletic (NISA). Grant played two years of collegiate soccer at McKendree University in Illinois followed by two years at Bowling Green University in Ohio. Prior to college, Grant earned a spot on the Jamaican U23 National Team.

The Ambush host Utica City FC in a pair of games this weekend and Grant will be available to play in both games. The first of the two matches is slated for Friday, January 17 at 7:35 p.m. CST and the rematch will be Sunday, January 19 at 3:05 p.m. CST. Sunday’s game will also include the popular mascot game at halftime, featuring mascots from local sports teams (including Louie from the Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues), businesses and organizations participating in a zany and fun soccer match.
