Blues Recall Pouliot And Walker From San Antonio

St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced tonight the Blues have recalled defenseman Derrick Pouliot and forward Nathan Walker from the team’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.  In addition, the Blues have designated forward Troy Brouwer non-roster.  Brouwer will be activated upon approval of his visa.

Pouliot, 25, was signed by the Blues as a free agent on July 1, 2019.  Originally drafted eighth overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, the Estevan, Saskatchewan, native has appeared in 20 games with the Rampage this season, leading all AHL defensemen with 18 points (four goals, 14 assists).  Overall, Pouliot has dressed in 200 career NHL regular-season games between Pittsburgh and the Vancouver Canucks, collecting 48 points (eight goals, 40 assists) and 79 penalty minutes.

Walker, 25, was also signed by the Blues as a free agent on July 1, 2019.  Originally drafted 89th overall by the Washington Capitals in 2014, the Cardiff, Wales, native has appeared in 20 games with the Rampage this season, ranking third among all AHL forwards with 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists).  Overall, Walker has dressed in 12 career NHL regular-season games between Washington and the Edmonton Oilers, tallying two points (one goal, one assist) and eight penalty minutes.
