Saint Louis junior guard Jordan Goodwin was named the College Sports Madness Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week, the website announced.
Goodwin has helped the Billikens to a 2-0 start. Against Florida Gulf Coast in the season opener on Nov. 5, he scored 18 points and pulled down nine boards as the Billikens rolled to an 89-67 victory.
Against Valparaiso on Nov. 9, Goodwin pumped in a team-high 22 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out six assists. At one point midway through the first half, Goodwin scored nine-straight points to put the Billikens up for good. SLU defeated the Crusaders 81-70.
For the season, Goodwin averages 20.0 ppg and 9.0 rpg, both team highs. He also leads the Billikens in steals (3.0 per game) and is second in assists (4.5 per game).
Saint Louis is back in action on Wednesday night against Eastern Washington. Game time is 7 p.m. The game will be carried on FOX Sports Midwest and 101 ESPN.
