Billikens Head to Chicago for Training Camp

by Brian Kunderman

The Saint Louis Billikens will spend their fall break in Chicago for ‘Team Blue Training Camp,’ a four-day event featuring practices, team meetings, video sessions and other learning experiences.

“This is a very unique experience and opportunity for our basketball team,” SLU head coach Travis Ford said. “We plan to spend our fall break, when our players do not have class, to get better both on and off the court. We will spend time talking about individual and team expectations and setting goals for the upcoming season. We are also excited to have a function with our Chicago area fans on Monday night, who I know are very energetic and passionate about SLU basketball.”

The Billikens depart campus on Friday and will return Tuesday night. In addition to the practices, the team will participate in several learning experiences, including media training.

On Monday night, there will be a Meet and Greet from 6-8 p.m. at Old Crow Smokehouse River North (149 W Kinzie St., Chicago, IL 60654). Attendees can hear from Coach Ford as well as SLU President Dr. Fred Pestello and SLU Director of Athletics Chris May. The event is complimentary but registration is requested.
