The Walking Dead isn’t slowing down anytime soon. With the recent announcement of Season 11 for the primary series and Lauren Cohan returning for Season 11 as her titular character Maggie, it shows that the television series still has a major following given its past disappointments.
But what is interesting is this second spin-off series, which still remains to have an official title. Even more interesting is that it is set 10 years after the initial outbreak. This places the series beyond its current counterparts. Even the comic series itself has ended with the recent and sudden death of Rick Grimes.
What we do know is this:
This new Untitled series will take place ten years after the outbreak and within Virginia. Calling themselves Endlings, it will focus on a new generation of individuals that have been born during the ‘Walker Apocalypse’ behind secure, closed walls. While they know how to survive in this different world they grew up in, they never have really faced its challenges. Until now.
From the trailer, it is a fresh take on the outbreak. However I am skeptical. Mainly due to how Fear The Walking Dead has left a distaste in us. But then again, we may be surprised since there will be 100% new material for this series. Only time will tell.
This series is set to premiere in 2020.
