When Jurassic World was announced, many were skeptical due to the mixed reactions of Jurassic Park 3, despite it being a financial success. Jurassic World did succeed in one thing: bringing better visuals to the game and a somewhat fresh story and characters; but other than that, everything remained the same.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom did have some similarities to The Lost World: Jurassic Park, however it had better ideas and a better story than its predecessor; not to mention the inclusion of OG Jurassic Park cast Jeff Goldblum, who reprises his role of Dr. Ian Malcolm. While his role was small, it played a nice homage to the character still being involved in the Jurassic Park series.
It was recently announced however that the original cast of Jurassic Park will be returning for Jurassic World 3, alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard’s characters of the series. While we have already seen Jeff Goldblum’s role of Dr. Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom for a brief moment, it remains to be seen of the involvement of Sam Neil and Laura Dern. There have been no other reports as to what caliber of involvement they will have in the third installment, being the sixth film in the series. If anything, it could be over-hyped and they both have small roles like Goldblum did in Fallen Kingdom.
Jurassic World 3 is slated for release in June 2021.
