Saint Louis University softball placed 13 student-athletes on the 2018-19 Easton All-America Scholar-Athlete list compiled by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. The award is bestowed upon players who achieve at least a 3.5 grade point average during an entire academic year.
The Billikens’ All-America Scholar-Athletes are Kaylyn Breitbach, Kaylea Chappelle, Alyssa Chavez,Maria Connell, Kylie Hess, Gabbie Kowalik, Kat Lane, Mackenzie Lawson, Megan LoBianco,Lauren Lomax, Kallen Loveless, Kristi Stevenson and Sadie Wise. Lawson and Loveless earned All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition for a fourth time; Breitbach, Chappelle and LoBianco collected the honor for a third time; and Chavez, Lane, Lomax and Wise made the list for a second time.
“This is the fifth straight year in which at least 11 of our student-athletes have earned All-America Scholar-Athlete honors,” head coach Christy Connoyer said. “Sustaining that level of achievement over several seasons is truly remarkable and a source of great pride for our program. It proves that the young women on our team are committed to making the most out of the first-class educational opportunity offered at Saint Louis University.”
