NBA Summer League Update

Former Billikens Javon Bess (New Orleans Pelicans) and Tramaine Isabell Jr. (Los Angeles Clippers) are playing in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Javon Bess | New Orleans Pelicans

July 5 – Bess made his NBA Summer League debut in the showcase game of the NBA Summer League against the New York Knicks. He played 21 minutes, recorded five rebounds and posted two steals. New Orleans won 80-74 in a game halted in the fourth quarter due to an earthquake.
July 6 – Bess played 16 minutes in a five-point Pelicans loss against the Washington Wizards. He pulled down eight rebounds.
July 8 – Pelicans vs. Chicago Bulls, 8:30 p.m., NBA TV
July 10 – Pelicans vs. Cleveland Cavaliers, 6:30 p.m., ESPN2

Tramaine Isabell Jr. | Los Angeles Clippers

July 6 – Isabell did not play in the Clippers’ win against the Lakers.
July 7 – Clippers vs. Memphis Grizzlies, 10:30 p.m., ESPN2
July 9 – Clippers vs. Washington Wizards, 10:30 p.m., NBA TV
July 11 – Clippers vs. Sacramento Kings, 9 p.m., NBA TV

Former Billiken Willie Reed played in two games for the Utah Jazz in the Salt Lake City NBA Summer League. He averaged 13.0 ppg and pulled down 10.5 rpg, which was second in the league.

Keith Carter, who played one semester at SLU before transferring to Valparaiso, is playing with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Summer League.
