St. Louis (3-0) was propelled by a three-touchdown performance from quarterback Jaime Gaal and a blistering defense that held the Dynamite to a solo touchdown late.

The SLAM began the scoring in the first quarter as Taylor Hay’s two-yard touchdown plunge was followed by Danielle Thompson’s PAT kick that resulted in a 7-0 lead.

Kaylee Neutzling’s 35-yard field goal with 9:11 left in the half pushed St. Louis’ lead to 10-0.

Gaal’s first touchdown pass of the game, caught by Veronica Smith with 3:25 left in the second, extended the lead to 17-0 after Thompson’s successful kick.

The SLAM’s defense forced Derby City (2-2) to surrender possession late in the half and capitalized with Gaaal’s 79-yard touchdown pass to Danielle Price with 1:31 remaining that made the score 24-0 after the successful PAT.

After a scoreless third quarter, the SLAM finished their scoring with Gaal’s 12-yarder to Jamie Skinner early in the fourth.

The SLAM continue WFA play on the road at Des Moines, Iowa Saturday in a match-up with the Iowa Pheonix (2-1).

St. Louis returns home to St. Mary’s Saturday, May 25 against the Minnesota Vixen.
