Blues Recall Forward Sammy Blais From San Antonio

St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the Blues have recalled forward Sammy Blais (BLAY) from the club’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.  Blais will fly directly to St. Louis and meet the team for practice tomorrow morning.  In addition, the Blues assigned defenseman Jordan Schmaltz to the Rampage.

Blais, 22, has dressed in 16 games with the Blues this season, tallying one assist and six penalty minutes.  The 6’2, 205-pound forward has also played in 19 games for the Rampage, producing 11 points (four goals, seven assists) and 41 penalty minutes.  The Montmagny, Quebec, native was originally drafted by the Blues in the sixth round, 176thoverall, of the 2014 National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft.

Schmaltz, 25, has dressed in 20 games with the Blues this season, collecting two assists.  Overall, the 6’2, 190-pound defenseman has played in 42 career NHL regular-season games, posting five assists and 12 penalty minutes.  The Madison, Wisconsin, native was originally drafted by the Blues in the first round, 25th overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
